What is it with celebs and stuffing their way too small dogs in Gucci and Chanel handbags?

I think its cruel.
Breeders breed these dogs sure u may think they are just 'like oh mah gawsh~ so cute!' but they live shorter lives than the normal sized dogs and are so weak they have to have someone to feed them. the females pelvis is too small so they cant give birth.

is it really worth stuffing these abnormally sized dogs into tiny purses just to look good on the red carpet or on the cover of some magizine?

paris is ridiculous with the animals. she just likes them when they're new as a way to get attention. then when everyone has seen her with them, she has to go get a different one. so annoying and, like you said, unfair to the animals.

Dressing your children in preparation for the cold Winter sports can be great fun, but it is often bitterly cold in the mid winter, and it can be a living hell for a poorly equipped youngster. Your children's clothing must protect them from the cold.

You could opt for a trouser and jacket combination, the quickest and most practical solution for young needs. Go for some salopettes, which do not let the cold in, but still allow a layer to be easily removed or replaced if you take a break somewhere a little warmer.

With the all-in-one ski suit it is more difficult to respond to temperature changes and toilet stops, but it is very comfortable for the child and is completely waterproof. Beware of cotton underneath the jacket or all-in-one. It traps their sweat when they exert themselves (going up or down steps for example). If this humidity is not retained by the tee-shirt it will reach the jumper (second cotton layer), with a risk of freezing in low temperatures.

Choose "breathable" garments, which let the perspiration through. A Patagonia thermal vest (just one recommended brand, but there are several similar ones at various prices) plus a fleece top is a good defence against the cold. Similarly, go for a breathable membrane for the ski jacket too, so that the humidity will not be trapped by any of the clothing. This is the 3 layer system: an undergarment, an intermediate layer and finally a jacket or ski suit. If one of these layers does not allow the perspiration to escape there will be condensation. As protection from the cold goes it is by far the best solution, but can be expensive. These garments are rather costly, and because our children grow out of them quickly we are reluctant to make such investments. For each child-sized breathable under garment sold, fifty adult ones are sold. If buying two technical undergarments and two intermediate layers seems too expensive, just buy one of each and be prepared to wash them frequently.

Don't forget that a ski jacket can also be worn to school or at the weekends. As far as socks are concerned, multiple layers restrict the circulation, making the feet cold. Adding extra layers therefore produces the opposite effect to that intended. A good pair of ski socks (warm, but not too thick) is good enough, or if the instructor agrees, a thin pair of socks over some tights. Rather than gloves, get them some mittens. Although they allow less freedom for movement, they are 8 times easier to put on, due to the number of awkward fingers that have to be positioned in a glove. They are also warmer than gloves, because the fingers are together and keep themselves warm. If the weather is exceptionally cold you can also add a thin pair of gloves inside the mittens, thermal longjohns, and consider a fleece balaclava under the helmet.

The physical risks of cold

True frostbite is quite rare in the typical winter sport situation. Very low temperatures and prolonged immobilisation are required to produce this serious condition. Nevertheless, it can sometimes occur in Val d'lsere, a resort renowned for being 'cold' in December.

The cold can manifest itself in many ways while skiing. If boots are tight, and feet are moist, there is a risk of frostbite. If the extremities are white, it is imperative that they are re-warmed immediately, at around 38°C {never in hot water). In addition, the skin frequently becomes chapped in children. This is due to the skin drying out and is actually made worse by moisture. If the chin comes into contact with the zip or the top of the ski jacket it can cause red patches. Apply some thick cream to nourish the skin.

A last piece of advice: make sure they have a good breakfast, and put a snack in their pocket.

Argentine Cowboys - The Gauchos

Just as the cowboy was and is an integral part of the North American West, so the gaucho remains an inextricable part of Argentine Patagonia.  This vast area of flat land in the southern cone of South America lends itself perfectly to the raising and herding of enormous herds of cattle and sheep. Hundreds of thousands of heads of cattle, sources of beef and leather must be watched over and moved from place to place as the seasons dictate.

There are various theories about the origins of the word “gaucho” but the fact remains that it has denoted the Argentine version of a cowboy for at least a couple of hundred years.  The gauchos, like their North American Cowboy counterpart, are a tough breed, used to long days in the saddle and living, at least in part, off the land.  Indeed, it is from their habit of roasting beef and lamb over an open fire that the Argentine tradition of asado has come from, a barbecue on a rather larger scale.  Due to their mixed ancestry, the gaucho tends to mix features of both native Americans and black slaves, as well as the poorer immigrants who flocked to the New World from Spain after the conquest.

The simple way of life of the Argentine gaucho has given rise to various highly regarded culinary traditions, such as the asado, for which people actually construct special pits so as to be able to roast entire sheep over a huge bonfire without having to worry about their houses catching fire.  Chimichurri also comes from the gauchos, a hot sauce very popular as an accompaniment to your asado.

Guachos haven’t always had the best of reputations.  There was a time when they were actually despised for their unfortunate habit of hunting indiscriminately on the plains and of slicing the tendons in animals’ hind legs to keep them from running away.  Since they had to travel light, just themselves and their horse, they also developed a reputation for thievery and consequently became very unpopular.

However, when the colonies began to rebel against Spanish rule, the guacho came into his own.  Used to spending long periods of time in the saddle, having developed excellent horsemanship and used to fending for himself, often alone with a hundred thousand cows, the guachos were strong and fearless in battle and proved themselves again and again against the Spanish.

The original gaucho was easily recognized by his baggy trousers, an import from Europe, specifically Turkey, his long curved knife or facon, his horse and his boleadoras, three hard balls of leather connected by long leather straps which he used to bring down runaway animals or during hunting.  Often these were his only possessions and with them he carved out a hard life on the vast flatlands of the Patagonian pampas.  As was often the case with the North American cowboys, the gaucho developed a reputation for hardness, a sense of justice and great courage, all highly important qualities when the majority of your life is spent miles from any kind of civilization and you must protect yourself and what you value at all times, with only the most basic tools and your own strength of character.

After the Spanish were evicted from the New World and just as they were becoming popular once more among the general populace for their behavior in battle, the gaucho declined and almost disappeared from view altogether.  However, since the vast herds of cattle remained and by far the easiest and quickest way to get around the land is on horseback, the gaucho made a comeback and still exists today.  You are unlikely to see him in the cities, but if you head out to the pampas, particularly any working estancia or ranch, you will see him in all his glory, usually astride a horse.  Whether he is on horseback or not, he will move with a straight back and his head held high, completely aware of his importance to the ranch and proud of his ability to do his job better than anyone else.

do you think that there are any pros on being an investment banker?

i still have 5 years before i go to college and i'm going to keep my options open. until yesterday i wanted to be a doctor, but then my aunt, who's a doctor(& both of her parents are doctors too) said that its not smart to be a doctor & that she became a doctor because of bad advice(from her doctor parents)& that i should become an investment banker. she said that doctors work really hard but don't get paid enough for what they do & investment bankers work REALLY hard (12-15 hrs a day & 7 days a week)& they get paid a lot. but i know that doctors get paid a lot because she's single right now, owns a bmw suv, owns a $400,000 house, and she's always carrying high end designer bags (i know they're real cuz i went with her to the chanel store and she bought a bag). so what do you think that i should do? follow my aunt's advice, or her parents? i know, someone will say that i should do what i want, but i need advice.can someone give me the pros and cons of both please?thanks!
